I love people who hurl anonymous insults–what are you afraid of? why not use your names? don’t you realize you look like cowards when you’re afraid to stand behind your words?–and then are shocked when when their arguments are held up to the ridicule they deserve by someone who actually puts his name behind his words. Come on cowards, come into the open, this is America, the country you’re supposedly so proud of. If you have to hide your name you must be ashamed of yourselves.
Yes, I love these people: any criticism of their point of view, of their lack of learning is called “personal insults”. These are the kind of people who are evidently used to spouting off to their poor spouses or co-workers, boring their ears off without anyone taking them seriously. Then when someone examines their self satisfied illogic and holds it up for the world to see they wail about “personal insults.” There’s a word for this in addition to “cowards”: crybabies.
It’s also interesting that they apparently read only books that allow them to be comfortable with their lack of concience on race. Try reading James Baldwin (you’ve heard of him right?) or Taylor Branch’s biography of Martin Luther King Jr..
But don’t worry, stay happy and ignorant in your refusal to take responsibility for your nation’s history (and in your cowardly refusal to take responsibility for your own words). America has never, ever done anything wrong that should concern you. I love this country but I don’t love it in ignorance and shamelessness.

Ron, You would drape a mantle of inescapable guilt across all of us.
Do you feel that guilt?
If so why?
If not, why not?
Guilt comes from knowing commission of a sinful or unlawful act. I have done neither of these.
Is just having lived here enough to be forever damned by the past? Please point toward some place free of this sin so that I can move there and feel the liberation of sinlessness.
As I have said earlier; I celebrate that A black man could get elected here, I do not celebrate that THIS black man got elected.
As far as anonymous insults go, you have the advantage of posting your name at a commercial website. I have, in the past, used my name and e-mail address only to be swamped by the Koskids to the point where I had to give up that address and get a new one. If you wish I will e-mail my name and telephone number to you and we can discuss this.
BTW; I don’t recall insulting you, I was pointing out where your analysis was using only a very narrow data base and excluding other information. I don’t see where anyone else did either. A difference of opinion is not an insult.

Reading about Obama’s Kevlar suit and “The Beast”, his tanklike car, the man’s cool and grace astound me. The cheers he inspires across the world conceal a hiss of hate beneath. Those who rail about “personal responsibility” should contemplate the courage of this man with humility. To recall the title of a groundbreaking black play/movie of the 1960s starring Ivan Dixon, Mr. Obama is “Nothing But A Man”.

BTW, thousands of cops wear kevlar suits everyday and don’t have an army of 40,000 covering their back while they patrol the dangerous streets of America every day. That Obama can ride around in a mobile fortress is no reason to admire him.
The cop that goes into a housing project to answer a family fight call is at much greater risk and his back up is much further away. Contemplate his/her courage before getting frothy about Obama’s.

Charlie I am one, twenty years of dodging bullets bordering Detroit, making a speech in a kevlar hardly makes anybody (R or D) a hero, remember he ran over a lot of people to get that job, risks and all.

They are happy a man of color has been elected but have the same reservations as I. A shady past, a long history of less than savory associates, a tendency to hang around with people that ought to be in prison rather than on campus, never having achieved anything of note at any position held. We see these types (of all colors) promoted without any real experience due to the “brass hats” taking a liking to them.
Cops are more interested in actions than words, we get our fill from lawyers.
