  1. Mr. Rosenbaum,

While I enjoyed aspects of your essay, I found the opening somewhat disingenuous and unfair. You say you are going to forgo the anti-Semitism argument and then drop several facile and inflammatory remarks comparing Mearsheimer and Walt’s book with the sick and distorted views espoused by David Duke and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. If you’re really interested in forgoing the argument over anti-Semitism, why not leave that out completely? Just head straight into your argument. It seems like you’re saying one thing but doing another

Thank you for this opportunity to leave a comment.

    Sincerely,

    RMJ

I think I was exercising restraint because I can’t know what’s inside the hearts of the book’s authors, but that doesn’t require me to ignore David Duke’s enthusiastic endorsement of The Israel Lobby or to consider the resemblance of its argument to The Protocols irrelevant.
